Winter Frost by Mackenzie Thorpe

The latest limited featuring a large heart being pulled is ‘Lighting The Way’ (2023) - although that super-sized heart is more orangey! And a pure red one appeared in the edition ‘Love Is In The Air’ (2022) but that one was massive & of course for St Valentines Day!

Here we have a winter themed release ‘Winter Frost’ featuring: an enchanted forest, a snowscape backdrop and what appears to be a full moon! and it is wonderful how Mackenzie plays with perspective here.

The hooded character pulls a large red heart across the landscape and the reflection of moonlight on the snow, means that at first glance it appears like a daytime scene – but wait! with another look at the painting you see the full moon in a star filled celestial night sky!

The forest is created in a very naive style, actually reminiscent of the Moomins cartoon series for those that remember!

This 2020 has proved to be a best seller, as yet again the artist captures your imagination, with this dreamlike image.
