Mark remains one of the UK's most in demand painters ❤️ of Original oil figurative art and Limited Editions, as well as Commissioned artwork - do get in touch with your requirements. Having been in Gallery windows and in constant print production for four decades, his art continues to delight and enthral his large collector base & those that see his work today, for the very first time! - January 26th 2021
Feedback we receive suggests the most popular canvas limited editions released by Mark include: 'Dance Of Silk,' 'Dance Of Satin,' 'Golden Seduction' (2006) and 'Satin Embrace' (circa 2010s); all of them carry the theme of the model posing with silk and satin material and work brilliantly with the artist's skill at capturing grace & movement.
Some recently added Original paintings: 'Untitled I,' 'Untitled II' and 'Light Breeze I,' remind you that Mark's colour palette is far large than those seen within his limited edition print range.
The 26th July 2019 sees two stunning New Releases for summer by Mark and they are his 'classic' images of women dancing in elegant ball gowns, perhaps what he is best known for: 'Body And Soul' & 'Life And Liberty.'
**A brief look at Mark's art studio:
Mark remains one of the most celebrated, British, figurative artists of the past 20 years and his limited editions prints have been in constant publication since he first stepped into the art world in the 1980s.
His main goal is to depict movement in his figurative paintings, and it provides endless delights and challenges for the artist’s creative mind, colour palette and paint brush.
Initially, the artist did a generalist art course in Kent (UK) at college and this was multidisciplined, covering graphic design and illustration, as well as modules on print making - something that would lead to Mark opening his own print studio for a time.
**Slideshow of Mark's artwork:
You may be surprised to learn that Mark started his art carer as an illustrator, creating designs for books and cards and even taking commissions to paint building and schools, including a limited edition print of Chigwell School in Essex - virtually every pupil or parent would purchase a copy, it was that magnificent!
In 2000, his profile was thrust into the artistic limelight further, as he signed with Washington Green Fine Art in the UK and he would go on to publish bestselling limited edition lithographs, giclee’s and silkscreens (on paper and canvas) with the company, over a decade long relationship.
He has firmly established himself as a staple of UK gallery wall space and people's homes & offices and has a unique place in the hearts of the art buying public, both here and overseas.
The artist has had extensive exhibitions worldwide including: the UK, Europe, North America, the Far East and Australasia and continues to make exciting appearances in galleries, always creating a buzz to see his latest paintings!
**Another slideshow of Spain's compelling art:
It is testament to his longevity that Mark Spain has been published by at least four of the main UK Art publishers: including CCA Galleries, Washington Green Fine Art, Buckingham Fine Art and Demontfort Fine Art (all of them supplies high street galleries with their art) and his originals now command £3000.00 - £5000.00+
As well as figurative ladies, Mark also paints people with classic cars in deserts (in the same vein as Jack Vettriano), the British social calendar (similar to Sherree Valentine Daines), including Ascot and he is also highly skilled ay painting horses in motion, often depicting a game of polo in mid-flow!
Mark continues to wow the public with his art and new artistic admirers ‘find’ his work for the first time, as his artistic skills develop and evolve with the times.
