Guns of the Magnificent Seven by Craig Davison

The 1960s film 'The Magnificent Seven' starring hefty Hollywood actors such as: Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, Steve McQueen & Yul Brynner, is obviously an inspiration for Craig Davison and something he must have watched as a child, as many of his limited editions have been inspired by it.

On this occasion 'Guns of the Magnificent Seven' limited edition is a nod to the 3rd in the series from 1969. Seven boys face us in this artwork and in the shadows of the picture they are imagining themselves as a bunch of heroes in the old wild west

The boys are dressed in bell bottom jeans and trousers, large collared shirts and some of them have converse style shoes on - we are certainly looking at 1970s style fashion here.

A witty tribute to all of those, myself included, who ever imagined himself as a law man and with trusty stick in hand (best we can do for a gun) we defend these 'ere parts.
