Ah beautiful Venice! and here Tom uses his trademark Collages as a starting point and then begins to paint and form his canvas scene.

The colour pallet here brings to mind his Cornwall limited editions, such as 'Castles, St Ives Beach' but this time the frame is closer, and we can see more detail of the figures and the interesting shapes Tom has given their bodies!

Perhaps Tom was inspired by one of the master's of painting Venice in the last 20 years: artist Cecil Rice and he has been able to interpret one of Cecil's vistas into his trademark contemporary style.

I love the use of blues, greens and sandy tonnes here, representing the glistening rays of the afternoon sunshine in the most romantic of cities.
