The falseness of glamour and temporal nature of fame is portrayed here in the artist's new social commentary that is the limited edition: 'Commotion.' Keira Knightley's face is awash in garish background colours and seemingly merging with famous cartoon characters; McAlpine Miller's painting is a metaphor as to how celebrities are treated by the media. The painting is graced by the lovable Scooby-Doo, biplanes and an evil character grabbing 'Wilma' (perhaps representing the media) and is layered with various bright tones and colours - there is so much that occupies our sight it is hard to know where to focus, although within moments we are drawn to the face of the celebrity.
