Stephen Doig is a talented artist. Born in Oxford in 1964, his encounter with art began at an early age, colored pencil drawings and sketches were the basis for the excellent work he produces today.
After a period in a variety of professions, including a stay in the Army, Stephen Doig decided to commit to painting. The combination of his talent and his love for the sport proved ideal recipe for the creation of studies of the dramatic life of speed, movement and the ability of games such as football and rugby.
A talented designer, Stephen Doig initial work focused on pencil drawing, however, the confidence to add color, in the form of pie and has transformed its highly finished drawings and paintings done, combining precision with depth and an essential element atmosphere.
Stephen Doig won the Art Trade Guild's' Best New Artist of the Year 'in 1997. His image of sport you have earned the reputation of being the best country artist contemporary sports, while his latest series entitled 'Legends of Rock' has attracted the praise of unusual and evocative portraits.
