Philip was born in Cork, Ireland, in 1959. From the age of 5 who loved art, and one of his earliest memories is taught in the figurative drawing of a family friend, Trevor Scott, founder of the famous School of Art and Design in Dublin.
At age 16, Philip left school and joined the Navy in Ireland. Once you have established himself as a naval diver, began painting at sea, and soon became prolific. He had the great advantage of having a unique perspective of Irish landscapes and seascapes as seen from the Atlantic Ocean.
The magic in the art of Philip lies in their ability to use their artistic creativity as a natural form of communication. With the extraordinary beauty of the mountainous region west of the island, Ireland, as his inspiration, Philip art gives us the opportunity, if only momentarily, to remove ourselves from the chaos of every day life and appreciate the beauty of orderly nature.
After 17 years in the Navy, and with much encouragement from his wife and family, Felipe resigned his naval career and took the bold step of creating its own as an artist. Its success has been such that it has become one of Ireland's most famous living artists. Philip's work is sold worldwide and his celebrity collectors include Bill Clinton and George W Bush.
