PAUL HORTON

It was not until the fall of 1997 that I became professional, paying for the first time in history, all my energies on my art. I held a great man retrospective exhibition in the summer of 1998, entitled 'All in a life's work,' which is a personal selection of paintings on behalf of my artistic journey. This innovative exhibition also featured a live concert by the rock star Steve Harley, which has enjoyed great success, including the classic No. 1 "Make Me Smile (Come and see me) '. I have always found inspiration through the words and music and poetic creativity and Steve Harley quality of the music has profoundly influenced my artistic development. It's an honor and a pleasure that the figure of inspiration and talent, as Steve has supported my work over many years .

'Passengers' was the first of my paintings to combine a character in a street scene. This has resulted in a new style of the field on the basis of life on the street, which reflects everyday events or capturing the nostalgia for the industrial era. I like to think that there is a deep and the spirit of these works.
Growing up in Birmingham in the sixties and seventies, has given me many memories to build; That has given me my identity and ethos of the working class. The man working on my industrial scenes of the streets is an icon that reflects the industrial era, but it could be in any city or any town.

He traveled throughout the U.K. For most of 2002. My 'Homes & Hearts' tour began my work to many galleries around the country, is an absolute pleasure to meet so many wonderful people, which have become a major source of inspiration for me.

I am constantly pushing myself in new and exciting directions. As well as drawing and painting my art I also lecture to students with special needs based on the community. This is a challenging and rewarding addition to my busy life and a chance for me to give something in return.
