Born on June 6, 1939, Gordon spent most of his childhood on the coast of Fife Scotland before moving south of the border to Reading in Berkshire. As a child of his talent came to the fore from the outset, winning several major art competitions since the age of seven. After leaving school focused on the graphic illustration, in training at Carlton Studios in London, while studying life drawing and painting at the University of Reading.
In its first 20 years was independent, to illustrate the major magazines and advertising agencies. Gradually, the committee built part of his work by painting portraits and exhibiting his work until the mid-70s that an example of working together to enable it to concentrate full-time on his paintings at the time it mainly in oils. Success came fairly quickly, which shows at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London and later at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colors, mainly painting figurative subjects.
His paintings of girls in the wild soon became his trademark and the popularity of the watercolors in the early 80s, along with the success of his prints, limited-edition silk screens, brought him the high profile that has today. It is published by Washington Verde.
In 1995, his first book "A Romance With Art" was published, with some forecasts by HRH Princess Royal, which offers a wide range of oils and watercolors. Gordon lives and works in his studio in Buckinghamshire that provides the backdrop for many of his paintings. Exhibits throughout the world and has appeared paint live in a number of television programs including BBC2 arts series "Close Up," Channel 5 "Open House" and Sky Sports on the PGA short course championships.
He has been actively involved in charitable work have supported various projects including charity Save the Children Fund, painting a portrait in front of a live audience for the BBC Children in Need "appeal, and painting a portrait of Norman Wisdom The Black Watch Cruise Ship in aid of the R. N. L. I. also donated a painting of Golf in the Hall taruca that are auctioned by Bob Wilson Willow Tree Foundation.
In 1999, to celebrate its 60th birthday, Gordon's second book "Drawn to Life" which was published with its exhibition of paintings at the Halcyon Gallery in the ICC, Birmingham. In addition, he received a prestigious award from Art Trade Guild voted to "Live Artist of the Year." He also had a painting contest accepted in the Singer & Friedlander Sunday Times showed that Watercolor Competition in London before traveling to the country.
Gordon is one of the latest projects is a set of three copies of the Limited Edition ballerina Darcey Bussell, signed by her, in aid of the Society of Alzheimer's disease.
