Doug Hyde was born in Bristol, UK, in 1972 and became aware of his unique talent at an early age. While attending school and college he focused on the technical side of drawing and painting but after graduation he made the decision to pursue a career as a professional artist.
Doug actually paints his distinctive art on a large scale, much larger than the limited edition prints he is known for, in order to achieve maximum impact on the viewer. He enjoys this way of painting as it allows him the physical freedom to express his creative energy; Doug Hyde also feels this is the key to his refreshing, contemporary style.
He uses pastels and applies them with his fingers or even with part of his hand or wrist, allowing him to create communicative and colourful images that make an immediate and long term impression on those that see his work.
Inspired by his own emotions, Doug attempts to cause an emotional response in the viewer. It must be working, as his new releases always have a huge impact on the UK art market. Certainly one of the most unique and inspiring Artists in the UK, we wish Doug Hyde well in the future.
