Derek Brown was born in London in 1924 and believes that his painting as a second career. After five years of active military service, he continued with his education, graduating as a dentist in 1952. With the help of Heatherley School of Art developed their natural artistic skills and began to work towards a successful career to the background work in dentistry.
Many of the artist's influences are derived from the support it has been assigned by the Australian impressionist Hayward Veal, who encouraged him to paint landscapes and still lifes using oils. Derek's love of all things colorful led to experiments with other types of media, including gouache and watercolors. This fascination with the color, of course, led to the specialist in the field of floral themes. These now a prominent place in his work of art in which he plays with soft colors in a lovely and delicate Impressionist style.
Exhibitions have become a regular occurrence, and many of the artist's works have been offered professionally at London's Mall Gallery, the Guildhall Gallery and the Royal Institute of Painters Annual Exhibition, not to mention many other galleries throughout continental Europe. This hosted the publicity has had an extremely positive effect on his work and reputation, the sharp rise in the popularity Derek Brown, one of the best performers to star in this genre.
His work has been described as a great individuality; His subtle blend of colors said the good memories of the traditional gardens of the countries that are enjoyed by many people at once. Their views could not be more a reflection of this:
"There are many ways to paint flowers. Some artists refer to the botanical description of detail and their results are superb. My interest is in creating an impression to give the viewer the feeling experienced when looking at a vase of flowers. A painting that always remind us of the pleasure last."
