Charlotte was born in large naval Plymouth in 1973 and grew up with a natural fascination with the sea. After training to be an illustrator at the University of Derby and Hereford School of Art, his love of life coastal drew Scotland, where he was invited to become artist in residence in a rural area of the arts center.
Since becoming a professional artist Charlotte has exhibited her work throughout the south of England and has enjoyed numerous exhibitions in London, York, Inverness, Galloway and Dallas, Texas. After his success in Art Trade Guilds Awards in 2000, when he was awarded the prestigious title of "Champion Exhibition artist," his work has attracted a lot of attention leading to the publication of his first collection of editions limited, which were sold in a matter of weeks.
Charlotte's very decorative mixed-media creations combine oils, pastels and ink and explore the energy created by color and its effect on our emotions. Although semi-abstract, the inspiration of the oceans is clearly visible in his work, as a haze figures seem to float through a silent and lonely under the dreamworld.
"The painting is especially emotion, and I hope that my work expresses even a small amount of feeling that he put into it."
