Who can resist the slightly dopey, dough-eyed look of Caroline Shotton’s cow creations? I certainly can’t! Pair this with the extremely witty titles of each piece, and you have the winning combination.

Being located just outside of London growing up, Shotton had the best of both worlds. She was near enough to visit the London Galleries she loved so much, whilst at the same time sourced inspiration from the countryside. It was the combination of her love for art and her interest in more natural surroundings that the cows that we have come to know and love were born.

In recent years Caroline Shotton has received quite a following, and rightfully so. What sets her apart from other naïve artists is the incorporation of her inspiration into her art. For instance, you will often find her dopey little cows peering out from amongst the hay, which makes her works even more outstanding!
